Hip Shot! Productions was founded in 1971 and served as a vehicle
for Dan Reeves' clay target shooting clinics. Retired since 1992, Dan Reeves
was a shooting coach, performer, and world-champion competitor in the clay
target sports. Dan set, held and still holds many world records for his
marksmanship.
So much for the serious side of life. Dan had the most fun when he was performing
in exhibition and pushing his incredible eye-to-hand coordination past the
outer limits and into the "No Way" Zone! Experienced shooters
and novices alike often responded with "No Way!" when they watched
him. With his live performances, video instruction, television and radio appearances,
he has been seen by millions of people all over the world performing his
shotgun shooting exhibitions. For three years he was seen on ESPN's "Star
Shot" series as color commentator and performer. He is one of only
a few people to have appeared on ABC's "That's Incredible" twice.
In 1989 alone he demonstrated his talents for thousands at the Hippodrome
and at Chambord Castle in Paris, France; and he performed Hip Shooting Exhibitions
in Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Scotland and England.
In September, 1989, in an incredible display of shooting using 15 new Beretta
A303's and alot of ACTIV ammunition, Dan set a new world record by smashing
2,283 clay targets in one hour. Now, that's alot of shooting, but it is
especially mind boggling when you consider that he shot them all from the
hip! To him, it was the only way that made sense to shoot them!
For the first time, Hip Shot! Productions has assembled a collection of video cuts, some from Dan's private stock of "home video" footage, for your entertainment. Even non-shooters will get a good laugh from his antics. Everyone will gain insight into the art and science of shotgunning and just how far a person can take the skills involved.
